For as long as I can remember, people have told me I look familiar. More often than not, this sparks conversations where strangers unexpectedly share stories and things they never intended to reveal; sometimes even thoughts they've never spoken aloud. I used to wonder why this happened so often, but I've come to realize it's not really about me. It's about something deeper: the longing to be known, understood, and truly seen.
Village Portrait isn't about performance or perfection, but a chance to be photographed honestly & authentically. Social media pressures us to polish & curate, to present only the most agreeable version of ourselves. But there is something far more beautiful in authenticity.
When you place these portraits side by side, patterns emerge. Common threads appear. They remind us that we are all more connected than we might think. A good portrait does not flatter, it reveals. It captures something deeper than appearance; something real.
Reminding myself to be present, open, and to embrace what is real has shaped my view of the world. The more I slow down and listen, the more everything makes sense. I want to meet as many people as I can, learn from their experiences, and share the wisdom found in their stories.

Please include a photograph of yourself, and some of your story.
I am also available for hire. You can book a session to take place at my studio, or have me bring a studio set-up to your home, office, or event.
Village Portrait sessions are intentionally simple and comfortable. I offer a few gentle prompts to help bring out your genuine personality, such as inviting you to look at a loved one, share something meaningful about your life, or simply be quiet in the moment. It's not about performance or forced smiles; it's about being authentic and present.
Currently, I'm photographing portraits in a dedicated studio space designed specifically for this project. The lighting is intentionally simple and classic, focusing on flattering and natural expressions.
Village Portrait welcomes individuals, couples, families, and small groups, anyone who values authentic portraits and the beauty found in genuine human connection.
Sessions are designed to be short and meaningful, usually lasting around 15 to 20 minutes. That's enough time to relax, be yourself, and capture something honest and compelling.
I believe strongly in building trust by genuinely connecting with the people I photograph. I use my humor, warmth, and candid approach to create a relaxed environment. By slowing things down and listening, I help you feel safe and comfortable enough to reveal your true self.
After the session, I provide a curated gallery of images. You'll be able to choose your favorites.
Wear something that feels genuinely "you," comfortable, timeless, and not overly fussy. The goal is authenticity, so don't feel pressured to dress up unless that truly represents who you are.
Absolutely. If there's an item or prop that genuinely helps tell your story or represents something deeply meaningful to you, please bring it along. The focus, however, remains primarily on you and your natural expressions.
I plan to primarily showcase the portraits online, through social media and a dedicated website. Long term, I'd also love to exhibit them physically, allowing viewers to see the powerful connections among people side by side.
Yes. Capturing authentic connections between people who care about each other adds depth and meaning to your portraits, and Village Portrait absolutely embraces that.
Typically, you'll see your photos a few days. I take care to thoughtfully curate each portrait so you have a genuine, high quality representation of who you truly are.
My hope is that people will feel deeply seen and celebrated for who they truly are, not just for their appearance, but for their stories, experiences, and the things that connect us all. I hope viewers are reminded of their own authenticity, vulnerability, and shared humanity when they see these portraits.
